Your birth chart is a photograph of the sky at the moment you were born. It looks complex at first, but it is really made of three layers — and once you grasp the logic, reading it becomes a pleasure.

1. Planets — the “what”

Each planet represents an area of life: the Sun your core, the Moon your emotions, Mercury your mind, Venus how you love, Mars your energy. Planets are the chart's “actors”.

2. Signs — the “how”

The sign a planet sits in shows how it expresses that energy. Venus in Aries loves boldly; Venus in Pisces loves romantically and selflessly.

3. Houses — the “where”

The twelve houses are life areas (relationships, career, money, home…). A planet's house tells you where in life you feel its effect.
