What Is Mercury Retrograde? How to Get Through It Without Panic

Mercury retrograde is a period, three to four times a year, when Mercury appears to move backwards from Earth's viewpoint. Because Mercury rules communication, thinking, technology and travel, emails go missing, plans shift and misunderstandings rise.

What it affects

Communication (messages, contracts, conversations), technology (device glitches, software bugs) and travel (delays) feel it most. It's not the ideal window to sign new contracts, buy big electronics or commit to a major decision.

How to use it

Retrograde is an invitation to review, not a punishment. It favours anything starting with "re-": review, reconnect, revise. Finish old projects, tidy neglected files, close loose ends. Read important messages twice before sending; back everything up.
