What Is a Tarot Reading? How Are the Cards Read?

Tarot is not a tool that predicts the future with certainty; it is a symbolic language that helps you see your situation from a different angle. The 78-card deck splits in two: 22 Major Arcana (big life themes like The Fool, The Magician, The Tower, The Star) and 56 Minor Arcana (Wands, Cups, Swords, Pentacles β€” daily events and feelings).

Upright and reversed

An upright card reads directly; a reversed card reflects that energy blocked, turned inward, or expressed too much or too little. The Tower upright can mean "sudden upheaval", reversed "a delayed but unavoidable change".

The three core spreads

Single Card β€” quick guidance for the day or a clear question. Three Cards β€” the flow of a situation across past, present and future. Celtic Cross β€” a deep 10-card reading covering the present, the challenge, roots, hopes and the likely outcome.

How it becomes meaningful

Tarot works best with a clear question. Instead of "What should I do?", open-ended questions like "What lies ahead in this relationship, and what should I watch for?" produce richer readings. The cards offer a map of possibilities; the choices and direction are always yours.

At Astro Tekin you can write your own question and try a free tarot reading right away. Single and Three-Card are free; the deep Celtic Cross offers a detailed reading.
